The Moonlight Fund provides 24/7 assistance to burn survivors and their family members, as well as families who have lost a loved one to a burn injury. The Moonlight Fund addresses the financial, emotional and physical needs in the hour of need.
In addition to the human loss and suffering from a burn injury, often homes and personal belongings are destroyed as a result of fire and even jobs are lost due to extended medical treatment.
What's more, many burn patients are uninsured or are forced to qualify for government assistance, encumbering them and their families financially when ongoing treatment, such as physical therapy or psychological counseling, is needed the most.
The Moonlight Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The Moonlight Fund was established in 1998 by:
Burn survivors Henry F. Coffeen III and Celia Belt
The family of Ben Jones, who lost
his life to a burn injury
The medical staff of the
burn unit
Area business leaders.
